Teeth Grinding

Grinding your teeth together is a condition known as “bruxism”. Grinding or clenching your wears down the enamel and exposes the dentin. This makes the affected teeth more sensitive and more prone to decay.

Bruxism can give you headaches, a constantly sore jaw, and cracked flattened or loose teeth.

Stress, misaligned teeth and sleep issues are some of the leading causes of bruxism among adult and kids.

A filling that is too high may also result in developing the habit.

Our dentists may recommend a custom made mouth guard (bite splint) to be worn at night to protect your teeth.

They may also repair any resulting tooth damage or fix fillings that maybe too high.
